An incident involving a man who fell to his death at a boat yard is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

The man fell to his death on October 15 this year at Ditton Marine Services Ltd in Portsmouth Road, Thames Ditton, but died five days later in Kingston hospital.

Hero cop delivers baby in car

pc-wells-and-baby.jpgA police officer is being hailed a hero after saving the life of a baby he helped deliver in the back of a car.

PC Dan Wells was flagged down by Russian banker Mikhail Nadel, from Silverdale Avenue in Walton, who had been driving to the Portland Hospital in central London.

The complex in Waterside Drive, Walton, will offer a bouncy castle, live music, face painting, volleyball and Kiddi Karts, as well as Soccatots, between noon and 5pm on Saturday August 16.

The postie, known locally as 'Big Eddie', is said to be heavily sedated and in a serious condition at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel after he was airlifted from the scene on Wednesday July 16 at 9am.

Students at Rydens School, in Hersham Road, imitated 'Ready Steady Cook' on Thursday June 19 to promote healthy eating.

Two teams of year 9 students had 15 minutes to prepare healthy dishes from a selection of mystery ingredients and Windsor House won with Thai fish cakes and stir fry vegetables.

The event, named 'On Your Marks .... Get Set, Cook' was organised by the school's catering company Scolarest, which aimed to get young people eating healthily.

Elmbridge Council's youngest member is on a mission to make the borough 'more sporty'.
