PUPILS from Ashley Primary School in Walton felt the cold on Monday (5) when they took a visit to the freezers at Sainsbury's.
The 26, year six pupils, experienced the freezing conditions in the store at The Heart in Walton as part of a project about the Antarctica.

Norman Clothier, 80, devised the slogan while he worked with top UK advertising agency Masius and Fergusson as a merchandising executive in the 1950s.

Safer Taxis in Elmbridge

Taxis and minicabs in Elmbridge are set to become safer to use with new licence plates which are being introduced by the council.

Bigger square plates are being added to Hackney Carriages and private hire vehicles over the next year, as licences are renewed.

A Surrey County Councillor backs campaigners who are fighting to save recreational space in Walton.
Residents from Kings Road, Kings Close, Sidney Road, and members of Walton and District Allotment and Garden Sociaty launched a campaign to save the former walton Swimming pool site as plans were submitted by Elmbridge Council's estate department for 26 houses and 12 flats.

Elmbridge residents have been ranked as having the best quality of life in Great Britain by a building society survey.

The third annual Halifax Quality of Life Survey, which examines data from a range of sources, was published on Saturday November 22 with the borough of Elmbridge as top out of 150 other local authorities.

A talk on the history of Walton Bridge will be held in January at St James' Church.

Nick Pollard from Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society will give a talk on January 19 at the next meeting of the Weybridge Society.

Admission is free to members and guests pay £1.
