THE Weybridge Male Voice Choir is giving a concert at St Mary's Parish Church, in Church Street, Walton, on Saturday February 13 at 7.30pm in aid of the church bell restoration project.

Santa Claus will be in Elmbridge for the next few weeks as he jumps on board the Walton Rotary Club's Christmas float.

The float is taken out annually and driven by Saint Nick across the borough collecting money for charities.

Since last year the float has been worked on by carpenter Bob Busby and David Meineck, husband of the Rotary Club's secretary Margaret.

The work included having the electric cart repainted and having it's roof line lowered.

Members of the Molesey musical theatre group will be performing the musical Calamity Jane at the Walton Playhouse next week.

The musical, which is based on the wild west heroine and the film starring Doris Day, will be on at the playhouse, in Manor Road, from Wednesday, November 11 to Saturday, November 14.

The Molesey group first formed in the 1970s, and will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year.

The group rehearses every Wednesday at Vine Hall, in Vine Road, Molesey and are looking for new members who want to sing, act, dance or help out backstage.

Army cadets from Walton are back home after spending two weeks of action at one of the largest youth camps in the UK.

Elmbridge Youth Theatre is looking to recruit new members both on stage and in its technical team.

Over 500 different types of vegetable, fruit and flowers were on display at the Walton and District Allotment and Garden Society's late summer show on Saturday (15).

Held at Hersham Village Hall, in Molesey Road, the event was attended by Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor James Vickers, who was on hand to award the winners with their prizes.

More than 160 people were present to see awards handed out for a variety of categories, including best flower exhibit, best floral arrangement and the national vegetable and society medal.

Jugglers, face painting and a host of sports activities entertained residents at Vicarage Field in Walton yesterday for Elmbridge Community Safety partnership's Community Action Day.

Elmbridge youngsters aged between 11 and 19 are being encouraged to take part in an 'Elmbridge has talent competition'.

Although the final is not until Saturday, October 24, youth organisations and schools are being encouraged to enter up to three acts, who would perform at Reed's School, in Sandy Lane, Cobham.

The winner, who can showcase any skill, will receive £1000 for their school or organisation.

Pupils from across Elmbridge are learning how to be safe and responsible citizens thanks to the Junior Citizen Scheme.

The scheme is taking place at Walton Fire Station in Hersham Road from Monday June 8 until Wednesday June 24.

The Promenade choirs are holding a concert on Sunday June 28 to celebrate their first birthday.

Being held at the hall at Cleves school, in Oatlands Avenue, Weybridge, the concert will feature both the Promenade junior choir and the Promenade youth choir.

The concert will start at 7.00pm and tickets cost £5, or £3 with concessions.
