A 20-YEAR-old stole cans of beer from an off-licence in Walton on Thursday (28).

The thief, described as white, between 5ft and 6ins tall, with short spiky hair and wearing a grey hooded jacket stole beer, valued at £30 from Wine Rack, in Terrace Road, before fleeing on foot.

A member of staff from the store and another man who was walking nearby chased the suspect, who dropped several cans of beer during his escape, but were unable to stop him.

He was last seen running towards Sandy Lane and First Avenue.

Surrey Police is investigating the theft and is asking for witnesses to come forward.
